Bulldozers

If you want to talk about heavy-duty, bulldozers are likely the most common description of that. They’re mainly used for pushing, grading and leveling large amounts of earth , sand, rubble and snow on the construction site.

A bulldozer usually consists of a large motorized machine riding on continuous metal tracks, with a large metal blade at the front for pushing around materials.

The metal tracks on which the bulldozer rides gives it excellent traction no matter how rough the terrain is. That’s why it’s mainly used in road building, land clearing, earthing moving and other construction activities.

In fact, bulldozers are usually among the first heavy equipment that arrives on any job site, due to their ability to navigate the roughest of terrains and clear a part for other equipment to arrive on the site.

Apart from the metal blade that rides at the front of the machine, other accessories can be connected to the back of the bulldozer, the most common of which is the ripper. It’s a large hook-like device mounted singly or in multiples to the back of the machine, designed for loosening and breaking down clumped or dense materials so it can be cleared out with the front metal blade.
